    upgrayeddHowdy folks,

In light of the recent large projects on Entercom Digital’s task list, I have been putting off the Wordpress MU upgrades. This ends tomorrow! We will be upgrading radio-blogs.net’s Wordpress MU install to 2.8.4a. Most of you won’t notice the difference, however there are some cool upgrades and feature inclusions.

We will also be upgrading Wp-super-cache, so let us know if you experience any caching issues in the next few days.

Thanks for you patience while we get things updated. There shouldn’t be any downtime and the upgrade should go easy. If not, I will post an alert to this blog.

In the meantime, check out this cool Lifestream plugin for WP.

  • Ando Web Metrics Update

    Jen 11:11 am on September 10, 2009 | 0 Permalink | Reply

Hello.  Last week Ando sent out the announcement below regarding changes with the way Webcast Metrics reports.  Here are some quick bullet points to remember when you are looking at Webcast Metrics from 9/1/09 into the future.

    • The new reporting changes went into effect on 9/1/2009
    • In the past Webcast metrics measured people listening 5 minutes or more.  This has now changed to people listening 1 minute or more.  Because of this change you will see your stats jump in size for TLH, Cume and AQH.
    • Ando has added some new stats for the advertiser world to closely mirror the already established criteria used in the digital media space.

SESSIONS: The total number of visitor requests for content over the reported daypart. Sometimes referred to as ‘Stream Requests’

OS (Open Sessions): The total number of sessions (that were listening for at least a minute) that were open within the time period provided

AOS (Average Open Sessions): The average number of people listening to the stream (for at least a minute) at any given point in time over the time period supplied

PEAK (Peak Sessions): The maximum number of sessions sampled every hour over the time period reported on

If you have questions please let me know and I will work with Ando to get feedback.

Hello, it is that time a year again to start thinking about Holiday Streaming.  If you could please let me know as soon as possible if you plan on setting up a stream for the 2009 Holiday Season.

If you are just replacing your regular stream with a holiday stream there are no costs involved.  You have the option to update your player with a new holiday logo, this is easy to do and I can walk you through the process.  The logo sizes are included in the attached setup document.

If you need to setup an additional player, below are the cost details.

    COSTS:
    No Player setup fee
    AAC Stream – $11.99  a month
    MP3 Stream – $5.99  a month
Bandwidth Costs – cost based on listenership
Sound Exchange Costs – cost based on listenership
Sound Exchange Reporting – 25.00 per month per station
If you are serving ads/filler Ando fee’s apply.

SETUP DETAILS (email Jen Pearson – jpearson@entercom.com for a setup document)

    1) Determine which new IP address or new series of ports to configure.
    2) Verify that there will be no bandwidth constraints (not likely in most cases)
    3) Make sure the needed adjustments are made (and verified to work) before the stream is due to go live)

(If you have technical questions, please contact Chuck Taylor ctaylor@entercom.com and please cc Jen Pearson jpearson@entercom.com)

  • Rochester launches WBEE

    Admin 10:40 pm on September 1, 2009 | 0 Permalink | Reply

Congratulations to Paul Schmidt and the Rochester staff by launching the new WBEE website on Monday. http://www.wbee.comwwwwbeecom-screen-capture-2009-8-2-22-29-49

The new “BEE” continues the use of KickApps for leveraging their content on the WBEE website.  KickApps also hosts the BEE social networking site “B Social“.

Paul and the Rochester team completed the website in near record time without a loss in Paul’s usual quality.  I’m quite proud of the work Paul and the WBEE staff have completed for this website.
